We catch up with Gregor, one of our talented cocktail bartenders, to speak about the private cocktail events he provides services for, and get hints & tips for the perfect drinks for a cocktail party at home.
What events do you provide services for?
I love mixing cocktails on hen parties – the atmosphere is fantastic there’s always a good dose of craziness and unexpectedness. No two hen parties are ever the same!
What do you enjoy about working for Social and Cocktail Events?
I really enjoy working for Social and Cocktail as I always have amazing fun at the events with all the customers, whether it’s making cocktails for them or giving them a masterclass on how to make them.
What do you think makes a good bartender?
I think a good bartender is somebody who can have a good laugh with the customer and at the same time make them a drink so good they will keep coming back for more.

Tell me a little about your past bar experience.
When I first approached Social and Cocktail I had little bar experience, but they liked my attitude and put me through an intensive cocktail training programme. After about 2 months I was fully trained up and comfortable making a wide range of cocktails.
Do you have any funny stories or incidents you would like to share?
A good story from one of the events would have to be when I was working at hen party in a rented cabin at Loch Lomond. When I had finished all the cocktails at the party I was asked to stay for a few drinks and we all ended up in the hot tub that was on the decking!

My favourite cocktail to make would have to be the Woo Woo as it doesn’t take long to make and tastes amazing.
What’s your favourite Cocktail to drink?
My favourite cocktail to drink is the Scottish Garden (Edinburgh Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, Pressed Apple Juice, Fresh Lime and Cucumber garnish).
What’s your favourite Cocktail Bar?
My favourite cocktail bar to drink in would have to be the Metropolitan Cocktail Bar in Merchant Square in the centre of Glasgow.
