Herbest is a brand new botanical experience for visitors to London’s Southbank and is essentially a temporary greenhouse packed with herbs selected with help from Britain’s leading herb expert, Jekka McVicar.

Food and drink menus across the city will be transformed for the summer with fresh produce grown in the greenhouse, which includes basil, lemon verbena, lavender and mint.

One example of a Herbfest inspired cocktail is the The English Garden Cocktail, details of which can be found below:

The quintessential cool drink for long summer days, we love this take on the classic gin and tonic.

-15 ml Elderflower Cordial

-200 ml Soda Water

– 3 Cucumber Wedges

– 4 Mint Wedges

Glass: Long Glass

Fill about three quarters of the glass with crushed ice. Add the gin, the elderflower and the cucumber and the mint garnishes and then top up as desired with the soda water. Stir gently and enjoy.
