Wondering what to do this Friday? Well we have the answer – take a trip to Cuba (at least, where your cocktail glass is concerned!)

The new bar Embargo Republica transports all of the vibrancy, energy and eclectic cool of Latin America to London, and it opens on Friday 22nd August.

Bringing an exuberant and heady mixture of Cuban cool to the Kings Road, this is a themed bar and club that’s sure to have you dancing to the rhythms of the night, soaking up the exotic atmosphere and indulging in a cocktail or two. We`ve had a sneaky peak at the menu, and are already hot under the collar for the Cuban Kiss  – Bacardi superior rum mixed with mango puree, guava and lime juices – and the Castro’s Treasure, which includes Hemingway Grog rum and Hennessy cognac mixed with mint and apple.

And of course no Cuban club worth its salt would be complete without a Rum Bar, and we’ve been promised a range of liquor that encompasses the classics to the curious, with the best selection this side of Havana. Plus there will of course be tasty food to soak up all the amazing drinks!

Embargo Republica will be bringing a mix of grit, glamour and passion to Chelsea … and with a rooftop bar that’s the biggest in SW10, then you can spend a warm evening sipping a cocktail and pretending that you’re half way across the world, with your troubles left behind.

Whether you want the chilled out vibe of early evening dinner and drinks, or a night of shaking your thang to smooth beats of a live Latin band, then this is going to be the hot new place to head – a riot of colour, rhythm and excitement to set the pulse racing.

We can’t wait to check it out, and will be reporting as soon as we’ve indulged in some Cuban concoctions. If you’re equally enthralled by this enticing new bar, then head along to Fidel’s House Party on Friday 22nd, where you can book one of the 23 Cuban-named VIP tables. As Embargo Republica themselves put it – ‘Smoother than a Latin lover, hotter than a chilli pepper…!”
