Social and Cocktail bartender: Patrick

We catch up with Social and Cocktail Bartender Patrick to find out about his experience, skills and passions.

What events do you provide services for?

The best part of my job is that I get to go to so many different events in different parts of the country but I have very much enjoyed birthday parties, especially people celebrating their 50th birthdays . It’s a great feeling being amongst people who have been friends for 30-40 years and helping them celebrate their special event – you can feel the good vibe in the air.

What do you enjoy about working for Social and Cocktail Events?

Rather than sticking to one venue, all the bartenders get to travel all around the UK, see some great venues and meet loads of amazing people.

What do you think makes a good bartender?

In my opinion, presentation is everything in bartending. Keep it clean, professional and fun!

Tell me a little about your past bar experience.

I started off working for an events company in Edinburgh and London. While there on the bar I worked with a variety of clients, from museum opening nights to celebrity weddings and cocktail parties. I then joined Social and Cocktail Events in September 2013, so I was one of the very first bartenders with the company.

What our customers say about Patrick?

“Patrick was very professional and efficient, and worked solidly throughout the evening to ensure no guests were kept waiting too long for their drinks. The set up and clearing away of the bar was completed quickly and thoroughly with the utmost care taken.”

“The cocktails were excellent and the barman, Patrick, was very entertaining which made for all in all a brilliant night.”

What’s your favourite Cocktail to Make?

I am a big fan of bourbon so any cocktail with bourbon in it! At the moment I’m really enjoying making the bourbon classic, The Mint Julep (Bourbon, Water, Ice & Mint)

What’s your favorite Cocktail to drink?

It would have to be a Bramble (Gin, Lemon Juice, Sugar Syrup & Crème de Mure) or a Boulevardier (Rye Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth, Campari)

What’s your favourite Cocktail Bar?

I haven’t been many times, but from what I’ve experienced so far, The Tiki Bar in Glasgow is one of my favourites in the city.
