Keep your resolutions this year (kind of) by sipping on some cleansing cocktails…

TwoRuba

This haven of chic tranquility in the middle of London Bridge is one of our go-to places to escape the hectic city – and now there’s even more reason to make a bee-line for the luxe gold and soft caramel interior of TwoRuba. Sink into one of the lounge chairs and peruse their special Guilt Free menu – a selection of drinks that includes libations packed with goodness, excellent for boosting that hard-done-by immune system.

green goddessWith five concoctions to choose from, there’s bound to something to cure what ails ye. The Green Goddess packs a real punch with its inclusion of the vitamin-packed spinach, combined with sweet Cointreau, tequila and some antioxidant heavy blueberries; while the Absolut Immunity is a zingy and almost-definitely purifying mixture of beetroot juice, Absolut Vodka, apple juice and energy boosting ginger. They say that the way to spot a superfood is through the vibrant colours, and boy is this true with these two, that shine as brightly as the go and stop of traffic lights.

Fans of the Bloody Mary can imbibe a pimped-up hair of the dog cocktail thanks to the Ruba Remedy, that mixes exotic lemongrass-infused Zubrowka vodka, tomato juice and spices and is then stirred with beetroot juice – great for heart health and lower blood pressure. And if you’re craving a pina colada then have no fear – jump on the coconut trend with their Coconut Cure. This creamy mix of Bacardi, vitamin-packed coconut milk, sweet pineapple juice and lime is sure to spring a spring in your step right until February.

TwoRuba’s Guilt Free cocktails are available until January 31st and are priced £11 each.

Sixty-One

We’re already big fans of Jeremy Pascal here at Social and Cocktail, having witnessed his incredible bar prowess during the Benedictine cocktail finals. So we were thrilled to hear the talented bar manager of Sixty One in Marble Arch has created a set of cleansing cocktails, intended to remove at least some of the guilt from getting sloshed in January.

Detox JulepWe’re already suckers for the Carrot and Ginger Margarita, a bright and beautiful concoction that merges vitamin-packed fresh carrot with tequila, agave syrup, ginger, lime and rosemary. If it doesn’t help you see in the dark, it’s at least guaranteed to perk you up for the night ahead. His Detox Julep is a refreshing and soothing mixture of gin, cucumber, green tea and honey, while the rum-based Ernest Especial Detox is so delicious that you’ll wonder why all cocktails don’t contain the likes of celery, peach and anis foam.

The Cleansing Cocktails at Sixty-One are priced at £12.50 and run until the end of January.

Oxo Tower

After Hours Cosmo (1)[1]For all those that have managed to stave off the alcohol during January, and who are perhaps considering continuing the sobriety during February, then we have the drink for you. If you’re tired of Mocktails being of the Virgin Mary/Mojito variety then fear not. Oxo Tower have taken it upon themselves to create a delicious libation that uses no alcohol whatsoever – and is a taste sensation. The After Hours Cosmo mixes fruit tea, orange flower water and the rather exotic siberian ginseng, and this concoction balances a refreshing citrus hit with a delicious sweetness thanks to the addition of cranberry, with a herbaceous finish from ginseng. It’s unusual, unique and means you can keep a clear head and still sip on a martini. Oh, and it looks fantastic too.
