37 1/2 ml Brandy, 12 /2 ml Coffee Liqueur

How To make a Dirty Mother

Fill the rocks glass with ice. Add the brandy and the coffee liqueur and gently stir. Serve.

The Dirty Mother is essentially a Black Russian cocktail with brandy replacing the vodka. We think the flavour is on par with the original classic and is no surprise if you have ever added a little brandy to your coffee. This is an easy cocktail to make so is perfect for cocktail novices and it is also quite a good entry point for drinkers into the cocktail arena as it is an easy sipper that most people will find pleasant.

The Dirty Mother has a number of variations, with the most popular being the Dirty White Mother, which is created simply by adding cream.

When making the Dirty Mother cocktail, always try to use a good quality brandy, such as Hennessey, Courvoisier or Remy Martin. There are several coffee liqueurs now available but either Tia Maria or Kahlua is always a safe bet for this type of cocktail.
