Top Geek Drinking Accessories

At Vinspire HQ, our geekery extends to far more than our obsession with artisan spirits, craft beers and making silly things out of wine corks.

Yes, most of us love at least one supposedly geeky TV show, movie or book – from Doctor Who to Star Wars, Harry Potter to Pokemon – and we love to incorporate these guilty pleasures into our drinking habits wherever possible.

Luckily, designers out there have answered our calls several times over, and we’ve discovered some truly epic geek chic drinking accessories. Here are some of the best:

1. Star Trek Bottle Openers

No Trekkie fan’s kitchen is complete without the Klingon Corkscrew and Enterprise Bottle Opener! They may be £25 and £22 respectively but I think the joy they add to cracking open a bottle of something lovely is well worth it.

2. Game of Thrones Goblets

Not only do these mean we can emulate our favourite Stark, Tyrell or Lannister, these are THE ACTUAL GOBLETS USED ON THE SHOW, GUYS. The company that produced them for the series released them to the baying masses of fans, and they’re one of our most popular finds on the blog.

3. AMAZING Ice Cube Trays: Doctor Who, Star Wars, Lego, Tetris and Dinosaurs!

Ice cubes will never be the same again, transforming from bland drink cooler to icy representation of our greatest joys. From daleks to dinosaur skeletons, lego bricks to the amazing death star ice mould, these ice cube trays will really take your geekery (and your drinks) up a notch.

4. Pokemon and Space Invaders Shot Glasses

Yes, my friends, now you can down a shot alongside your trusty Squirtle, or pour something retro into a glow in the dark Space Invaders glass. These really are the centrepiece of any geeky gathering.

6. Doctor Who Mugs

Which means we’ll probably need all of these, too. From the adorable loved up daleks to a delightful nod to the eleventh Doctor with the ‘Bow Ties are Cool’ mug, these are perfect for sipping a brew in front of the best show on Saturday night TV (or, indeed, all of TV, ever.)

7. Harry Potter Hip Flask

Lastly, our most recent find, and one of our most shared Facebook posts: the Polyjuice Potion hip flask. Now you too can pretend to be Mad-Eye Moody when in fact you’re really Barty Crouch Jr in disguise. And each time we take a swig, it gives us the opportunity whisper ‘I solemnly swear I am up to no good…’
