Tequila Sazerac

The Ingredients

45 ml Tequila, 15 ml Rye Whiskey, 15 ml Absinthe, 2 drops Angostura Bitters, 3 drops Orange Bitters, Grapefruit Peel

How To make a Tequila Sazerac

Begin by adding ice, soda water and absinthe to rocks glass. Then add bar spoon of sugar to mixing glass and add bitters. Muddle ingredients into a paste. Add tequila and rye whiskey. Stir with a bar spoon for 20 seconds to dilute the drink. Taste. Discard the absinthe, ice and water from the rocks glass and strain the drink straight up into the glass. Zest the drink and the rim of the glass with some grapefruit rind.

Social and Cocktail says:

The Tequila Sazerac has a nice strong citrus smell, with a rounded mouth feel. The tequila really plays well with the citrus, and for us is a modern classic.
