Social and Cocktail says:

The Golden Dream is one of our all-time favourite dessert cocktails and closely resembles a Creamsicle ice lolly in a glass. The drink has a nice frothy appearance with an orange and golden hue. The drink is typically categorised as an “after dinner” drink, however, it is becoming a popular cocktail to serve at hen parties and wedding receptions.  If you have a sweet tooth, you can by-pass the cream and blend with an equal amount of vanilla ice cream – for the ultimate boozy dessert.

This Golden Dream cocktail is a great combination of cream, orange flavours and a nice touch of spice, which is brought to the mix by the Galliano liqueur. Galliano is a sweet herbal liqueur which was created in Italy in 1896. The liqueur has many natural ingredients, including vanilla, star anise, citrus, lavender, juniper and ginger and the result is a taste distinctly unlike any other liqueur. The liqueur is usually consumed as a digestif and an ingredient in mixed drinks, most famous for it role in the classic Harvey Wallbanger cocktail.

Some bartenders will play about with the measurements of this drink, such as raising the orange liqueur level for a more tangy and orangey taste. There are a variety of orange liqueurs which can be used to make the Golden Dream cocktail but we think that Cointreau is the best option, as it gives a more intense and sweet flavour – ideal for a dessert cocktail.
