Cocktail Advent: Day 15 – Monk`s Punch

Cocktail Advent: Day 15 – Monk`s Punch

Well, it seems here at Social and Cocktail we’ve missed a week of Advent Calendar Cocktails (too busy trying them out rather than writing about them, perhaps…), but we are now back on track and ready to count down the next ten days until a very merry Christmas day is upon us.

And to celebrate the 15th day we’re giving you the recipe for a rather delicious cocktail you can make at home with the aid of that much-loved liqueur Benedictine.

The Monk’s Punch was created by Shaker & Company’s mixologist, Tim Garratt, and is a twist on the classic mulled, heated drinks that make an appearance at this time of year.

Monk’s Punch is a smooth, warming tipple with a bittersweet edge – this festive flavour combination shows off the herbaceous notes of Bénédictine perfectly. The sweetness of Bénédictine is balanced with the dryness of the Maraschino liqueur and bitterness of the Punt e Mes, creating the perfect seasonal serve. So, without further ado, here is the recipe to create it at home…

Ingredients:

25ml Bénédictine

25ml Hennessy VS

25ml Punt e Mes

5ml Luxardo Maraschino

Three drops of Master of Malts Cherry Bitters
