Volupté is more than an oil painting by Matisse. It’s London’s most decadent and debauched supperclub: dinner and drinks are served up with a side portion of burlesque or cabaret in a sexy, subterranean space in the City. Whether suit or style maven, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a touch of kitsch. The Bon Bon Cocktail Bar pays a tribute to retro candy with tipples such as Miss Marshmallow and Gummy Worm sending you back to your school days. If you’re looking for a night out with a vintage twist, head to Volupté.
In need of a refreshment? Well look no further then Voluptés Bon Bar! Volupté’s incredible Bon Bon is completely unique and one of a kind; smothered with pick and mix for purchase, candy trees that look oh so delicious doted on the bar, a highly skilled bartender eagerly awaiting to create your wondrous cocktails with only the freshest ingredients and a box filled with elaborate nipple tassels for purchase! Moving away from the bar itself, your treated to old school music, black and white silent TVs showing a host of vintage classics including Betty Boop and an incredible atmosphere created by the excitement oozing from hen parties, couples and friends dressed in vintage attire. Keeping in line with the candy theme of the Volupté Bon bar, we have picked three of our favourite cocktails listed within the sweet-inspired section of the cocktail menu:
‘Miss Marshmallow‘ made with raspberry and vanilla vodka, topped with a fluffy marshmallow
‘Candy Cane‘ made from Koko Kanu, Blue Curaçao, Lichi Li Liqueur and gin, served with a striped candy cane
‘Liquorice Lady’ made from Black Sambuca and vodka, garnished with a Liquorice Lace.
Accompanying these decadent delights is a menu of more vintage-inspired concoctions that features classics from Manhattans to Martinis. Fun and flamboyant, The Bon Bon Bar is a destination in its own right that offers long-forgotten flavours in the heart of the City – all with an alcoholic twist, of course!
We tried cocktails from the ‘Show Stoppers‘ section; Which included the sweet ‘Porn Star Martini‘ which contained Stoli vanilla and Passoa teamed with passion fruit puree and vanilla sugar accompanied with a shot of St Evremond champagne. Chelsie selected ‘French 77‘ which is comprised of St Germain elderflower liqueur shaken with fresh lemon juice and a dash of sugar crowned with champagne. The drinks we enjoyed at Bon Bon bar were the best cocktails we have tried worldwide to date!
